Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Rev. 4:11 KJV)
Worth is the measure or weight assigned for the valuation or rating of something or someone; the total sum of its intrinsic and extrinsic value. Worth is the consideration applicable to the estimated weight or measure of inherent substance contained or constituted in someone or something. Worth is the measure of assigned notice, respect or admiration. Worth in effect translate to value.
Take the consideration for labor for instance, the worth of a person’s labor per hour is reflected in the assigned wages. Wages reflects or mirrors the worth, weight or measure of value derivable from one’s labor per hour. Everyone’s worth is reflected in the assigned consideration or wages an employer of labor is prepared to expend on an hour hire of that labor. Employers of labor will be prepared to assume different wages for the respective “worth” determined of the same labor hour.
It is not uncommon nor unusual to experience or encounter inappropriate or unequal estimation of labor worth. Some people being displeased at the uneven compensation for their skill or labor have sort new opportunities that will ascribed better worth for their labor than current employer; as the labor (owners) have determined they are worthy of higher or better remuneration. Some others (labor owners) have also experienced a down ward scaling of a asking labor worth or wages just because the employer has a diminuend estimation of the offered labor. It is imperative therefore to note the crucial importance of assigning accurate worth to derive and retain good value.
The Bibles says something very profound about the worth and wages; ““You shall not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain [to keep it from eating],” and, “The worker is worthy of his wages [he deserves fair compensation].” (1 Tim. 5:18 AMP).
Notice “The worker is worthy of his wages” meaning the worth of the worker must not be denied the worker because he (worker) is worthy or deserving, entitled or eligible to be paid. The Bible also states, “Now to a laborer, his wages are not credited as a favor or a gift, but as an obligation [something owed to him].” (Romans 4:4 AMP) The compensation alluded to the laborer is an obligation for the worth or value derived from his labor and so it is owed to him and not a gift.
The concept of worthy, worth and wages well illustrate what each person is deserving (worthy) because of their inherent value (worth) represented by the compensation (wages) so extended or paid.
Beloved, our admiration, adoration and adulation of God should never be considered as a favor or gift so extended to him but as an obligation [something owed to him] for the immense and immeasurable value we each derive from Him. The Bible says He is Worthy, Deserving, Entitled, Justified, Eligible, etc. to receive glory and honor and power. How often do we pay or give God His due compensation for the value we (each) draw and derive from Him?
This is thy Praise is ascribing God His worth…He is worthy. Let us Praise Him Loud.
Praise the Lord!!!
