Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14 KJV
Christ was born to the “Glory of God”.
All things exist that God may be glorified. There is a unique blessing in the understanding of this blessed truth. When the will of God about a subject is known and understood, it naturally results in Glory being given to God. We must reign in the understanding of this truth. We exist for the Glory of God.
Psalm 19:1-4 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” The Glory of God is resplendent in everything God does.
Notice that accompanying scenario at the coming of the angel of the Lord to the shepherds, the Bible says, “And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them…” Luke 2:9 KJV. Glory always witnesses for the doings of the Lord. The shining of God’s Glory witnessed that the coming (birth) to the Earth of our blessed Lord Jesus is the will and doing of God. Isaiah 9:6 says “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” It is the will of God that Jesus Christ was born, and Glory is the witness for this truth.
In every activity and event of our lives, we must always pursue the will of God being done that Glory may attend and follow the activities. The Bible says, “…do all to the glory of God.” 1 Cor. 10:31 KJV.
As we embrace and celebrate the reason for this season, the anniversary of the birth of our blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, we must rejoice in the knowledge of the Glory, pleasure and delight of God that accompanied the event. The Glory of the Lord shone as a witness for the will of God about the event.
Beloved, Jesus was born by the will of God for you and me; the redemption of our soul from the distress and perplexing desolation of the wicked to a glorious experience of greatness in Christ to the glory of God. Praise the Lord!
