Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: (Psalm 144:1)
The glory of any tool is in its effectiveness; to intently attain its design objective and deliver its planned outcome. When a tool is ineffective (not achieving its intended purpose) it’s either its design is defective and/or its deployment is flawed. The goal of using any tool is to accomplish a defined task.
The American Government recently deplored a tool described as “The Mother of all Bombs”. According to report, “The “Mother of All Bombs” – the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast, is the most powerful non-nuclear weapon in America’s arsenal. The bomb was used for the first time in combat on Thursday 13 April 2017 in Afghanistan. This bomb, which has a relatively thin casing, is not a penetrator, but a “demolition bomb” designed for a surface burst.
The GBU-43/B is large, powerful and accurately delivered high explosive. The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb [MOAB] weapon is a 21,000lbs total weight GPS-guided munition with fins and an inertial gyro for pitch and roll control. It is probable that this munition was initially nick-named the “Mother of All Bombs” with the retronymic expansion of MOAB following later. The weapon is expected to produce a tremendous explosion that would be effective against hard-target entrances, soft-to-medium surface targets, and for anti-personnel purposes. Because of the size of the explosive, it is also effective at LZ clearance and mine and beach obstacle clearance. Injury or death to persons will be primarily caused by blast or fragmentation. It is expected that the weapon will have a substantial psychological effect on those who witness its use. This massive weapon provides a capability to perform psychological operations, attack large area targets, or hold at-risk threats hidden within tunnels or caves.” (www.globalsecurity.org › Military › Systems › Munitions › Smart Weapons
Notice, that the weapon is designed to achieve a defined objective and deployed to execute a definite task, including “substantial psychological effect on those who witness its use”. The intent of a player in any game is to win but that victory is squarely dependent on the effectiveness of the tool deployed during the event.
Beloved, God also has His tool of War. That tool is His Word.
According to God’s report about His “tool”, the Bible says, “For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account.” (Heb. 4:12-13 AMP)
The “tool” of God is first of all, “living”; rational, intelligent and sensible. God was so certain about the acute intensity and accuracy of His “tool” to accomplish planned objective, He motioned to Moses; “ The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace” (Exo. 14:14 KJV).
Beloved, in all life’s game and contest, let’s learn to rely, use and deploy this “living” tool, it will not “…return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11KJV) God says.
