And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. (Luke 5:6-7 KJV)
The Word of God is Truth. Truth is the distinguishing feature or character of the Word of God. It is this characteristic feature that identifies and differentiates God’s Word from all others. Truth is the identifier of God’s Word. It is upon this unique feature that we must all assume to identify and recognize the Word of God.
About identifying the Word of God, the Bible records an important notice to which we must give careful attention when it says, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit [speaking through a self-proclaimed prophet]; instead test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1 AMP) Note, whom the Bible was warning us about, “spirits”. The cognitive fact and important reference here is words are inspired, muttered or motivated by spirits. This is an important benchmark to verify and validate what we hear and how we respond. “Do not believe every spirit”; the Bible says. It is one’s awareness and acquaintance to the truth about this fact that will extricate and exonerate from the despicable intricacy of the wicked to deceive, spoil and rob. We must be awoken to proving all things to identify and hold to the truth. It is a matter of personal responsibility.
About His Word, Jesus our precious Lord said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63 KJV) Jesus was unequivocal about the content or the element of His Words, “they are spirit…” He said. It is this spirit of the Word that is the active ingredient in the Word. It is the spirit in (of) the Word that gives effect to what is said or heard. The active element is therefore the spirit who utters (prompts) the Words.
Every Word is motivated by the spirit that inspires or prompts it utterance. About these spirits the Bible says, “We [who teach God’s word] are from God [energized by the Holy Spirit], and whoever knows God [through personal experience] listens to us [and has a deeper understanding of Him]. Whoever is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know [without any doubt] the spirit of truth [motivated by God] and the spirit of error [motivated by Satan]. (1 John 4:6 AMP) Unlike satan’s, the active Element or Person I must say in the Word of God is the Spirit of Truth. This is the latent, inherent and active Spirit in the Word of God. It is this Active Personality that gives effect to the Word of God thereby commanding its result or outcome in the Truth without intent to deceive, rob or spoil. The motivation is ever Truth to save and give life.
Beloved, converse and adverse to the Spirit in (of) the Word is the spirit in (of) the word of satan, Bible describes it as the spirit of error and the intent is to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10 KJV) Let us awake to seeking the Truth and like Peter and his partners who when they had done The Word spoken by Jesus obtained a great and surpassing result, we shall also find the Word so spoken to us effective. Praise the Lord!
