Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb. 4:16)
Good knowledge and understanding of God’s redemption plan and package offered through our Lord Jesus is the most crucial factor to inheriting the exceeding riches of God’s Grace so delivered. We need to know it to enjoy it. It is the residence of this knowledge that commends one’s confident approach on to God.
Due to the consciousness of the Law and its eminent call for retribution, the whelming feeling of guilt has continued to alienate many from the surpassing riches of God’s Grace and enchant the confidence necessary to approach God without the petrifying feeling of reprisal; this ought not to be so. The feeling is both unfounded and unnecessary; it is a mere fickle and insolent caprice to ensnare the uniformed.
This is the truth and basis for the Salvation of God; God initiated a reconciliation plan to reinstate Man into relationship with Him through peace means offered and delivered by the Lord Jesus Christ that through justification by Faith in Jesus Christ, righteousness is (now) imputed and excluded from the works of the law about which Man abysmally failed. It is this imputed righteousness through Faith that many could not assimilate or tolerate. They are deceived to believe, God could not be so forgiving (as Man is not as forgiving). Beloved, do not be deceived.
Consider what the Bible says; “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Cor. 5:17-23 KJV)
Notice, God “…hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ…” and also employed Ministers to whom He has committed the ministry of reconciliation to spread this Good news (Gospel). That God punishes sin is true but, He has put the punishment for our sins on the Lord Jesus Christ by His crucifixion on the cross. God’s vengeance against our sins was thus satisfied. We are thereby cleared to stand before Him without inference to any wrong doing or nature when we approach God in Jesus Christ in whom we are now justified. Notice the word Justified is “justice satisfied”. It will be unjust of God to again (now) punish when justice is already served and satisfied (in Jesus Christ)
The Bibles puts it thus, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. (Romans 3:23-28 NIV). Let’s gain this truth and approach God with the confidence He inspires.
