God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Cor. 10:13)
God rules over all. This is a prime and premier understanding every man must have. He rules over all the affairs and interest of Man. God is the owner and the possessor of all things; according to the scriptures, all things were made by God and without God was not anything made that was made. This is the basis and premise of God’s rule over all things.
The Bible says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1 KJV); because all things belong to the Lord; He’s able to direct and control all things for His good and proper end.
Life is akin to a voyage; a passage from one side to another on water. Typical of every sail, storms are encountered though not desired. The storm could be both fierce and furious; that is the nature of storms: a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds that may include rain, thunder, lightning, etc. bringing with it the threats, pressures and intimidation for potential loss or damages. The presence of storm heightens apprehension, worry and trepidation.
About a storm encountered by Paul, he wrote, “And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.” (Acts 27:20 KJV); according to Paul, “all hope that we should be saved was then taken away”; humanly speaking there was no hope.
During life’s traverse, event or situation does arise that may be so frightening and startling, but we must always remember God rules over all. This is the escape route in all life’s situation. God “maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. (Psalm 107:29 KJV)
In the encounter of Paul, God intervened! As He still does when we call upon Him; Paul would later inform others on Board the same ship, “I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.” (Acts 27:22-25 KJV)
Beloved, in all of life’s tempestuous situations; God reigns and rules. This must counsel and comfort every believer as we journey through life. Notice Paul said, I believe God. This is the tool and instrument to calm all of life’s trauma and make one’s way to the other side; Believe God!
The Lord Jesus says, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. “(John 14:1 KJV). This is the pain killer against all life’s pain, anxiety or panic. Believe God for “He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.” (Psalm 107:29 KJV).
God is both able and faithful to bring His children out of the precipice and establish them in the place of honor and glory for… if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God (John 11:40 KJV)
