And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Matt.28:5-6)
God is God; the Eternal Creator that was not Created, the Self Existing One that needs no benefactor, sponsor or support. He was before all things; all things were made by Him and for Him. He is the Elohim – God the Creator and Judge of all. He is the ultimate Umpire. He decides and determines all things invariably. The knowledge of God is the necessary and basic requirement to relating with and serving Him. The knowledge of God is the essential tool to derive and draw benefit from God. What one knows of God is the implement for drawing all the blessing and goodness composite in God which is immeasurable. This is a very important notice.
The Bible says; “But the Lord shall endure forever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. And he shall judge the world in righteousness; he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. (Psalm 9:7-10 KJV). Notice the bold phrase; “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee…” The knowledge of God is essential for walking with God.
Our blessed Jesus knows God and so He trusts God completely for all things including raising Him from the dead. We must pause and draw understanding from this about our Lord Jesus. As and like unto every one of us, the only reliance or assurance that Christ had to die for man’s sin is God’s promise to raise Him from the dead.
About this promise, the Bible says, “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalm 16:10-11 KJV).This was the only reason that Jesus went to the cross, the promise of God not to leave him in the grave. He knows God and so He yielded His Ghost and sure to bet, the Bible says, “This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.” (Acts 2:32)
Beloved, the resurrection of Jesus is the token evidence to every man that God would do whatever He says. Jesus became the testimony of God’s commitment and faithfulness to His Word that we may follow in His step in believing God.
To derive the benefit of God’s faithfulness therefore, we must gain knowledge of God’s promises contained in His Word, refrain from making up our own word born out of ignorance or neglect of God’s Word. Take Words from the mouth of God as God is committed to what He says. Having gained knowledge of His Word, we can release our lives to Him as Jesus yielded, in His case His very Spirit trusting that God will not fail Him nor let Him suffer corruption. And it shall turn out for a testimony for us, as for Jesus when the Angel says, “…He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Matt. 28:5-6).
The knowledge of God is sufficient to bring the same power at resurrection to effect in any area we may desire it in our lives today, if we go forward at God’s Word. Amen.
