Restore our fortunes, LORD, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. (Psalm 126:4-5)
Harvest is the proof of God’s commitment to restore, replenish and restock what is used up on the Earth. This is a very intriguing and interesting truth to note and notice. It is cogent to understand God’s love and commitment to His care for the needs of the Earth and note that that commitment has remained unfailing and unflinching as we are all witnesses to it even in these our days.
About the produce of the Earth, the Bible says,” Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field. (Eccl. 5:9). Notice that everyone regardless of status, title or means derive sustenance from the product of the field organized by the commitment of God to seed, time and harvest for He says,” As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” (Gen 8:22).
It is a great relief when we rely on God’s commitment to our care as He will never allow all we need to ever run out no matter how much is used up by their restoration and replenishment in Harvest. Consider for a minute how on Earth, we have not ran out beef, chicken, vegetables, grains, etc. despite the volume consumed and the population of the Earth regardless of growth rate and the longevity of people. God is indeed up to anything and nothing is a challenge to His Plan and Purpose. God by His Wisdom makes whatever is complex simple easy and seamless. He “simply” instituted a cycle of activities that restores whatever is used up.
Beloved, God is committed to restore whatever is used, damage or destroyed in everyone’s life simply by our notice and understanding that there is nothing used up, damaged or destroyed on the earth that God does not replenish in time through Harvest. It gives me great joy (therefore) to look to God’s commitment to Harvest just when something is short, damaged or destroyed; I can look forward to recovering it in Harvest just as the Bible informed, “Restore our fortunes, LORD, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. (Psalm 126:4-5).
Yes, things may not be equal at some point and tears may flow at some other time but our hope and outlook must be toward the Harvest by God for He is the Lord of Harvest and He multiplies the seed sown. This is God’s commitment as Parents are committed to restore items used up in the home
“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. (2 Cor. 9:10 NIV)
