Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. (Heb. 11:26 KJV)
God has richly blessed His children. We all must strive; endeavor, exert ourselves, make good effort to gain knowledge and understand these blessings which are freely bestow upon us by God in Christ Jesus. About these blessings, the Bible describes them in exceedingly terms, i.e. surpassing or beyond any other. This is urgent and cogent for our contemplation and comprehension.
The Bible says, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. (Eph. 2:7 KJV). Notice the reference term used to describe the riches of God’s grace toward you and I; exceeding!
Early, good and clear understanding of the exceeding, incomparable, surpassing riches of God’s grace toward us is a strong and sturdy deterrent to the malicious entreaties of the wicked (satan). We must understand this truth to gain victory and conquest over temptation and trials; little wonder why the Bible would urge us to reckon the trial of faith as working to making us perfect that we may be entire, wanting nothing (James 1:2-4 KJV).
Beloved, we must understand the nature and contents of God’s boisterous and bounteous riches and blessings upon us as Christians.
Take Eternal life for instance, a unique and dominant gift (blessing) of God upon the Believer; the Bible says, “For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:20-23 KJV). Notice the recompense (end) of the entreaties of the devil is death but now being made free from sin…the gift of God (to us) is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Beloved, the knowledge of God’s exceeding riches is a compelling and audacious deterrent against the unscrupulous whims of the wicked. Understanding that the blessed greatness of God’s blessings upon our lives reeling up to life and peace are incomparable to the abysmal petrifying concoction of the devil to send anyone to the abyss. None of us will be found in the abyss in Jesus Name. Moses also reckoned that the suffering with the people of God is of greater riches than the treasures of Egypt.
