And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Cor. 12:9 KJV)
The Lord Jesus Christ asserts that His Grace is enough, adequate, suitable and sufficient to overcome all lives issues and contentions. We must therefore glean learning from the exploration and composition of Grace to derive help as we may both need and require it.
The Bible says something of note when it says; “…we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:16 KJV). Notice there is “grace to help in time of need.”. It is upon this notice that we must learn to explore the Grace of God to find the help we may need from time to time.
In Paul’s life’s encounter, he was fraught by a challenge he described “as a thorn in the flesh by the messenger of Satan to buffet me”. To buffet, torment, pound, or plague could be a very excruciating experience concerning which by his account, he “besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.” But The Lord said to him to rather look up and look into His Grace for…that is what he, Paul needed. As the Lord said to Paul, so He says to you and me to always explore Grace to find help in time of need. If The Lord says “grace is sufficient’, then it is truly sufficient if we find it.
Man, typically wants to boast in natural capacity and ability; the carnal or natural person wants to assert and assume his on strength as being sufficient. Paul had hinted that had that messenger of satan not being there buffet him, he would otherwise be “exalted beyond measure”, would have become proud and self-conceited. Now, the Bible says, “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” (Gal. 5:4 KJV). God’s grace does not flow or attend to those who gratify themselves in their own strength for by strength shall no man prevail. Grace is inoperable to those who seek to excel by their own strength.
