For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2 KJV)
A prevalent and unique attribute of Law is its application or enforcement. A law will lose its being a law when it is not enforceable. This unique feature of Law is what confers reward for obeying or aligning with the Law and punishment for its violation. It is important to understand that, every Law is laden with consequence: positive and negative. When we gain the unique operative implement of a Law and engage it, we trigger the natural consequence of that Law in the exact context by which we engaged it.
Take for instance, the Law of gravity; it is widely understood and said; “whatever goes up, comes down”. This is a prevalent natural Law. The operative implement of this Law is so customary and dominant that no one would pray that what he/she throws up would come down.
No one is therefore at any threat of losing a wallet filled with money when thrown up because throwing up the wallet will consequently exact the effect of the Law triggered by the act of throwing it up; after all “everything that goes up comes down”.
This said; the effect of the Law of Gravity as illustrated is typical to every Law. We procure the cause of any Law whenever we activate it by an action that initiate its effect.
The Law of sowing and reaping is also very apt to elucidate the trend and potency of Law. The Bibles put it thus; “Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.” (Gal. 6:7 AMPC)
Giving the operative effect of this truth (Law) prayer to God cannot help any person to either alter what was sown as to reap something else or reap what was not sown at all as “God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.)”. It is rather incumbent, mandatory, compulsory, necessary, etc. to sow what one expects; then trust God to grant exceeding yield of expected outcome.
We must know what we are doing and what Law is ratified by our action and thereby predict and prepare for the outcome.
The Bible talks about the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus: we must understand what action triggers the operations of this Law, maintain the stream (continuous) operation of it to inherit or reap its laden benefit. Notice intently, the make- up of this law; it is in Christ Jesus. So this Law does not operate outside of Christ Jesus akin to how the Law of gravity does not operate (in Space) outside our Earth.
About the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, the Bible says, “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. “ (John 3:14-16 NIV)
Beloved, we initiate and precipitate the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, when we believe, rely trust, depend, etc. on Jesus Christ – The Word of God. Lay hold on it!
