Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us…Luke 1:78 KJV.
The Dayspring is the Light that arises in darkness. It is the breaking Light that intercepts the trajectory and dominance of darkness. Dayspring is the Light that divides darkness and terminates its strength, it is the breakthrough of Light by which it begins to get progressively brighter and brighter in place of hitherto substantial darkness.
Dayspring also known or called, Daystar, in truest sense, and according to the Holy Bible, is another name for our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is that dayspring from on high sent by God to visit us (you and I and all peoples). The Bible puts it, thus, “Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” (Luke 1:77-79).
Notice, the Dayspring visited us through the tender mercy of God, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. This is God’s desire and design for the Dayspring in our respective lives; to give you and I light in the midst of existing or surrounding darkness, liberate us from the capricious and insidious grasp of death and bring us (guide our feet) into a life and lifestyle characterized by peace. The pursuit and realization of this noble plan must be naturally interest and delight a discerning and inspired Believer, as prime and rare inheritance secured for us,
About this pursuit, the Bible says, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” 1 Peter 1:19-20. We shall do well, to note and take heed…until the day star arise in your hearts.
Beloved, the arising of this day star in our hearts is our goal and pursuit in the New Year.
Happy New Year.
