We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 2 Peter 1:19
Man’s right to choose is one of the debilitating and self-destructive yet equally most rewarding and delightsome article in his pouch. Though not designed or intended to destroy, Choice has being so unadvisedly used. Choice is the distinctive streak that defines and delineates every man.
The pragmatic and prognostic outcome of Choice is the exclusion of everyone else from the pain, penalty, reward or fortune latent in its outcome. So contently, everyone settles with the outcome of his or her own choice.
The pervasive effect of Choice and its patent content is clearly understood when a decisive selection must be made. To forestall sectional bias or prejudice and prevent anger against bias or collusion; the contestant is content to choose “head or tail” of the same coin. The arbiter throws the coin into the air and leaves the outcome to the Choice of the contestant. Notice, the dice is settled by the Choice favored at the outcome of the thrown coin and the score is evened without recourse – after all; the outcome is a product of Choice. Everyone is content by the outcome he or she chooses. The content is not necessarily of being very satisfied at the outcome but being of what one chose and not what was chosen for one.
This is the point; we are all quite gratified by what we choose against what is chosen for us. The crux however is how satisfied is everyone with his or her choice/choices. That is left to how and what to choose.
The right to choose is the most beautiful and enduring grace God gave to Man, unlike other creations, God gave Man the patent capability to choose including to obey Him or not. Man was released free to choose. The Bible recorded, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Gen. 1:15-16)
Notice; Man was free to eat from any tree in the garden but warned (not restricted) against the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; Man was left to his choice to either live or die. Man sadly (in that case) chose to die. This outcome is the grievous effect of owning a choice.
It is the right to choose that makes Reward and Punishment possible. It must be borne in mind, though not usually highlighted, that at the set of a Choice, course and consequence are also determined so that we can contently project the outcome of the course selected or chosen. This is why and where good advice, foresight, insight and guidance are key and necessary. Good reasoning makes good Choice. When and where there is no guidance, error and danger looms.
Beloved, The Bible is God’s compendium to aid, modulate and regulate our Choices. The Bible says, “whereunto ye do well that ye take heed” helps determine and deliver a life course with predictable outcome as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn – We can always bank on its result as like a shining light and not growing darkness.
