Content of Water I

Content of Water I

The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. (John 4:15 KJV)

It is important that we understand our need to come to the Lord Jesus the Christ.

Beloved, we must come to Jesus Christ, the Living stone that provides the living water. This is needful and important for our health and wellness. According to the Bible; “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:37-38 KJV).  To derive the fortune, fatness and riches inherent in the Living Stone; we must come!

Notice, the invitation is to any man (that) thirst; this typifies the vulnerability, need and requirement of the Children of Israel (symbolic of the Church) on their journey from the Egypt to the Canaan; the promised land. At a point, they became thirsty and desperate for water. The Bible says, “The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?” (Exo. 17:1-3 KJV).  The people were dire and desperately thirsty during their journey but there was no water. David would also say of his own experience, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; (Psalm 63:1 KJV)

The Christian life experience is replicated by the traverse and experiences of the Children of Israel who journeyed in the wilderness for forty years. The various experiences they encountered, documented and typified the Christian life and journey experiences from the World (Egypt) to the Heaven (God’s promised land).

In their exposure and experience, when the Children of Israel encountered this desperate thirst, the Bible says, “the Lord said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.” (Exo. 17:5-6 KJV). The people would come to that rock to drink and quench their thirst. That rock would later be identified as Christ as the Bible says. “they all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. (1 Cor. 10:4 KJV)

Beloved, it is to that same Rock, that you and I must come to quench all life’s thirst. The Bible identified Jesus Christ as the Rock, a Spiritual Rock, Living Stone chosen by God and Precious to Him to provide relief for all life’s thirst. We must come to the Living Stone and drink; we cannot claim we are busy, occupied or engaged, the need to quench the thirst is the urgency that must drive us to the Living Stone to derive and draw the much-needed living waters and as Jesus said; we would find rest for our souls. Come to the Rock.

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light (Ps. 36:9 KJV)

The Light about and around God is a product of His Person and Nature; that nature being His Holiness. According to the Scripture, God, “…only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.” (1 Tim. 6:16 KJV). God is clothed with Light and this light is the glorious expression of His purity and Holiness that no Man has or can mimic or match. God is Holy.

About the purity of God, the Bible says something of note, “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:5-7 KJV). God is pure as Light. There is no shade or shadow of turning in God.

About the children of God, the Bible says, “ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” (1 Peter 2:9-10 KJV). Notice Bible says God called us out of darkness into his marvellous light; this is a translation from evil and dark nature of sin into the gloriously purity of the Holy nature of God.

As we walk in the Light of His Personality, Nature and Character, we see (gain) Light also. This gained light is the individual revelation of the Truth about God (in whom we now live being in His Light or nature) each person gains walking in the Light of God. As we are illuminated by the Light of God, we become Light ourselves; Lighthouses of some sort that Jesus now called us Light of the World.

Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:14-16 KJV)

Beloved, we have been brought out of darkness into light; the glorious and pure holiness of God our Father that we in turn may contact and connect with His Light Nature and thereby become Light ourselves; the respective effectiveness of every believer as a Light is dependent of the intensity of Light each gains in the Light of God our Father as we walk in His Light. Have Light in yourselves.

The Nature of Our Shining

And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. Mark 9:5 KJV

Jesus came to relocate you and me from a low place to a high place; far above all treacheries and caprices of the wicked one. He came to elevate our status from paupers and peasants to kings and priests and the Bible says, “…and we shall reign with him on the earth” Rev. 5:10. It is important and beneficial that we study to learn and understand the composition of our salvation and the inheritance delivered by it.

Prior to Man’s fall; notice the word “fall” indicating a tripping from an elevated position: Man was the most dignified and decorated creature of God on the Earth. About Man’s status, the Psalmist says, “You (God) have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,” (Psalm 8:4-6 NKJV).  Notice, Man was made, fashioned, created to have dominion over…all things.  This was the status Man had; it was a painful loss but God was faithful to reverse and restore Man to glory and honor.

We must understand what the fall of Man represents to gain truth of his redemption and restoration. Simply, Man fell from being under God’s command to being under the devil’s command. Man by disobeying God elected a new “governor” to control and direct his affairs.

Whereas under God, Man was made to have dominion over all things, herepresented God on the earth, replete and resplendent in Glory and honor until he was callously and wickedly overthrown by the debauchery and whims of God’s enemy; the devil. We must gain good understanding of the “behind the scene” playout of this game. Man; God’s treasured point of interest was captured and decapitated, left without color. Man became abysmally lost and depraved …but for God.

So Jesus came, to introduce and integrate the Kingdom (reign and influence) of God among men again, to extract us from the governing decadence and profligacy terror of the wicked; about this relocation the Bible in a “figure” says; “Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them” (Mark 9:2).  The terrain and influence of God’s governance in a man’s life transforms the man as it sets him on a high mountain apart…” far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” Eph. 1:21 this God did when he made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Eph. 2:6 NKJV).

Peter saw the glorious effect and positioning occasioned by God’s Kingdom (rule and governance) in a Man and he exclaimed, “Master, it is good for us to be here…”  (Mark9:5). Sure it is good to be under God. Would you consider this “good” place and be free, exempted and let off the lower abyss of the wicked devil? We can choose. After all Peter, James and John chose also to follow Jesus to get to that high mountain apart by themselves…come apart also, follow Jesus and He will take you to High points of Life, full and resplendent of color and Glory. Say Amen.
