All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. (2 Cor. 5:18-19 KJV)

Jesus Christ came to reinstate, reconcile and restore Man to God. It is a blessed and glorious endowment to understand and assimilate this truth and appropriate its fortune. Jesus Christ came to abolish the enmity between God and Man; thereby removing the barrier and hostility that had limited and restricted God’s interaction and relation with Man. We thank God through our Lord Jesus

According to the Scriptures, “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (Eph. 2:14-22 KJV)

By the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, He abolished in his flesh the enmity; charting the way for us into fellowship with God; For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.  It is a glorious and eternal blessing that the Lord Jesus obtained for us when He submitted Himself to the cruel death on the cross that we may inherit eternal life having satisfied the wrath and punishment against sins we committed. Truly, there is no greater love.

Having reconciled us onto God, He also conferred on us the inheritance of God’s children thereby granting us access to the boundless riches of God’s grace and blessing, having obtained the Spirit of adoption by Him. According to the Bible, “…but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;” (Romans 8:15-17 KJV)

The bountiful and glorious blessings of God’s riches through Christ to Man is doubtless matchless and incomparable. We must strive to gain and grow in the knowledge of this blessing to appropriate its riches and apply them to our lives having being so freely provided. It is upon its matchless benchmark that the Bible says about a man healed and to everyone who would be likewise be saved; “Be it known unto you all…that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10-12 KJV). Beloved, our salvation is in the victory purchased for us by Christ Jesus – Happy Resurrection Sunday

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)

The dominant intent of God for Man is to honor Man with His Life type – Eternal Life. This notion must both interest and delight everyman.  The gift of Eternal Life is the furthermost and surpassing proof of God’s love for you and I. No one else has it neither could anyone offer it.

It is this surpassing gesture of love and interest that elevate God’s concern for Man above any idol or object of worship Man may unadvisedly craft for himself. Nothing anywhere compares with the intent of God’s love for Man.

About God’s love and its demonstration to Man, the Bible says, “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why?  Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him. (John 3:16-18 MSG)

Notice how sweet a “song” that goes, God proved His love, concern and interest for Man by offering what is most personal and dearest to Him;  “his one and only Son”  about whom He voiced “This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life.” (John 3:16 MSG)  but His love for you and me constrained Him to prove the ingenuity of His care and readiness to do what it takes to share Life type.

God is not foolish, irrational or thoughtless about the offering of His Son for our ransom, He did it with the noblest motive that; “In the same way that Moses lifted the serpent in the desert so people could have something to see and then believe, it is necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up—and everyone who looks up to him, trusting and expectant, will gain a real life, eternal life.” (John 3:15 MSG) –  It is for (my) Eternal life that God gave His Son and the Son gave His Life. We must gain the value of God in the Salvation plan He packaged and delivered to us so graciously lest anyone should fail of this Grace.

Eternal Life is the Life type of the Eternal God; it is this Life type that made God self-sustaining and ever existing. This Life type has only one nature: LIFE. It cannot be alloyed, corroded or polluted. It is pure LIFE. Anything it touches adopts its nature instantly and anything that touches it is torched by it – Life. This is chronic.

Beloved, this is what God offers you and me in Christ Jesus, Life. Eternal Life is God’s motivation for interaction with us through the Lord Jesus Christ.  See how Jesus puts it, “…I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of” (John 10:10 MSG). No one could be more well-meaning, better motivated than God toward us. There is no greater insignia of care or concern than the atrium to Eternal Life offered by God through the Lord Jesus Christ – Come in!

For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. (Heb. 8:3 KJV)

The most precious, priceless and invaluable gift of God to man is Eternal life.

This Eternal life must be understood. It’s source, nature and maintenance. It is important that we understand a gift to draw value from it. How often one may be presented with a gift and lacking understanding of what the gift is or how to operate the gift leaves such one as if nothing of value was delivered or presented. In most cases such gift becomes redundant, occupies storage space, gathers dust and eventually becomes a nuisance making the best of goodwill extended by the giver of no effect. How often we have made great gift redundant being ignorant of its value.

Concerning the gift of God, the Bible clearly declared and delivered; “… the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Roman 6:23) As with the gift of God, only few understood the concept of death as God meant it or its truly is; and because death is not so understood; many are indeed dead yet professing to be alive being unaware of their true state.

As in Adam, after he ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil concerning which the Lord had said, “…Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Gen. 2:16-17) Notice the strong and conclusive statement of the Lord; “…thou shalt surely die.”  That was both conclusive and verily true. At the fall, man had eaten of this tree and had indeed die but was yet breathing, talking and walking…after all, he could walk away to hide from God when he said, “… I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”  (Gen. 3:9-10) but man had surely died.  It is important to understand that man’s separation and restriction from the presence of God is the true death. Death is separation from God. Life is being (in the presence) with God. About this Life the Bible, “In Him was life; and the life is the light of men.”  (John 1:4) Man, as a result of the fall, died. Cast out of the presence of God and restricted from coming near God. About this state and condition the Bible says, “… at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:” (Eph. 2:12) Man became without God in the World and so by this had truly died.

But God desired and delighted to dwell and interact with man, He began a process and delivered a model of His restoration and revival for man. The tabernacle was delivered to Moses, a symbol of God’s presence amongst His people with restrictions that limit access and frequency to the very presence of God – the Holy of Holies demarcated by a veil through which no man except the high priest can come and even the high priest can only come once a year and that not without blood to safe him from being destroyed by the presence of God. The Bible says “…into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:” (Heb. 9:7-10)

But when The Lord Jesus Christ came, He declared, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved….” (John 10:9) and at His death, “… the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; (Matt. 27:51) signifying unrestricted and unrestrained access to God’s presence.
