He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. (Psalm 107:29 KJV)

God rules over all. This is a prime and premier understanding every man must have. He rules over all the affairs and interest of Man. God is the owner and the possessor of all things; according to the scriptures, all things were made by God and without God was not anything made that was made. This is the basis and premise of God’s rule over all things.

The Bible says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1 KJV); because all things belong to the Lord; He’s able to direct and control all things for His good and proper end.

Life is akin to a voyage; a passage from one side to another on water. Typical of every sail, storms are encountered though not desired. The storm could be both fierce and furious; that is the nature of storms: a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds that may include rain, thunder, lightning, etc. bringing with it the threats, pressures and intimidation for potential loss or damages. The presence of storm heightens apprehension, worry and trepidation.

About a storm encountered by Paul, he wrote, “And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.” (Acts 27:20 KJV); according to Paul, “all hope that we should be saved was then taken away”; humanly speaking there was no hope.

During life’s traverse, event or situation does arise that may be so frightening and startling, but we must always remember God rules over all. This is the escape route in all life’s situation.  God “maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. (Psalm 107:29 KJV)

In Paul’s encounter, God intervened! As He still does when we call upon Him; Paul would later inform others on Board the same ship, “I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.” (Acts 27:22-25 KJV)

Beloved, in all life tempestuous situation; God reigns and rules. This must counsel and comfort every believer as we journey through life. Notice Paul said, I believe God. This is the tool and instrument to calm all life’s trauma and make one’s way to the other side; Believe God!

The Lord Jesus says, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.“ (John 14:1 KJV). This is the pain killer against all life’s pain, anxiety or panic. Believe God for “He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.” (Psalm 107:29 KJV).

God is both able and faithful to bring His children out of the precipice and establish them in the place of honor and glory for… if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God (John 11:40 KJV)

The Hope of Glory

Featured Post

‘And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.’ Isaiah 6:3

The whole earth is resplendent with the glory of God. The marvel of creation; its circles, systems, composition and organization are proofs of the magnificent wisdom of God; the Bible says, the whole earth is full of God’s glory. Everywhere we look; the eminent glory of God; His wisdom and creativity are both shown and known.

About God’s wonder at creation, the Bible further says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world…” (Psalm 19:1-3 KJV). The glory of God is revealed or discovered by His works. The scope and depth of God’s manifold wisdom that exhibit His glory are engrained and illustrated by the understanding of how the earth was prior to the glory now visible.

According to the Scriptures, “The earth was formless and void or a waste and emptiness, and darkness was upon the face of the deep [primeval ocean that covered the unformed earth]. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. (Gen. 1:2 AMP). The earth was in an inglorious, ignoble and despicable state but the Spirit of God was upon the situation. This is a classic insight to the hope of Glory if we allow God in a situation. The presence and motion of the Spirit of God upon a situation or person will bring about Glory no matter the formless, void, waste, emptiness and darkness that may pervade or persist. This is an important notice for hope in Glory.

The situation was caustic and chaotic, but God saw Glory in it and the earth that was empty, and void would later be full of God’s glory. This is a notice to have hope in God in the face of stack seemingly hopeless situation; there is glory inherent and ahead if we allow God to handle the situation; He knows what to do.

God would not walk away from the despicable and awful situation of the earth, God engaged the situation by His wisdom and His power and from that heap of waste came a haven of Glory; the Bible would later assert, “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Gen. 1:31 KJV)

Beloved, there is glory ahead of every child of God upon whom the Spirit of God moves; God knows how to intercept the present darkness and cause light to emerge; He knows what to set-in-order to correct the disorder and bring glory out of any dark situation. Draw nigh unto God, allow and commit the course to His charge. The earth was void and without form, darkness was upon it, but God attended to it and it’s now resplendent in glory. There is a hope of Glory in every child of God and any circumstance that may assail; Christ in you is the hope of Glory (Col. 1:27 KJV). Arise and let God; there is glory ahead. Praise the Lord.

The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Isaiah 60:19 KJV

The creations of God witness and testify of the vastness and splendor of the Creator; God Almighty. God is seen in the marvel and ace of all His works. The creativity, ingenuity and the adroitness of God is revealed in all His works.

About God’s work, the Psalmist says, ‘O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever’ (Psalm 136:3-9 KJV) The Psalmist ascribes worth and thanks to God at the evaluation and appreciation of His works; he calls them “great wonders”.  God is seen in all His works and the vastness of His Glory is unsearchable.

In God’s love and devotion to Man; He made Man; the capstone of His creation and the epitome of His works. According to the Bible, the Psalmist says, “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:” (Psalm 8:3-6 KJV). Man was crowned with glory and honor; Dominion was also given to him over all the works of God. This is great!

Beloved, the plan and the purpose of God for you and I is to inhabit us; to dwell in us. It is the indwell of God in a Man that manifest Glory in that person. This is an important notice and must be our pursuit. We exude glory through the resident of God in us and the revelation of His Person in our lives. God radiates in the life He dwells and beautifies it.

The glory of the sun or the moon is pale compared to the Glory inherent in God designed and intended for you and me. the Scripture says, “The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.“ (Isaiah 60:19-20 KJV)

This is a day and season of great rejoicing to know that; “the Lord (Himself) shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory”.  This is God’s good and great pleasure; to shine though you and me as an Eternal Glory that does not wash or fade. Praise the Lord.
