Choice

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 2 Peter 1:19

Man’s right to choose is one of the debilitating and self-destructive yet equally most rewarding and delightsome article in his pouch. Though not designed or intended to destroy, Choice has being so unadvisedly used. Choice is the distinctive streak that defines and delineates every man.
The pragmatic and prognostic outcome of Choice is the exclusion of everyone else from the pain, penalty, reward or fortune latent in its outcome. So contently, everyone settles with the outcome of his or her own choice.
The pervasive effect of Choice and its patent content is clearly understood when a decisive selection must be made. To forestall sectional bias or prejudice and prevent anger against bias or collusion; the contestant is content to choose “head or tail” of the same coin. The arbiter throws the coin into the air and leaves the outcome to the Choice of the contestant. Notice, the dice is settled by the Choice favored at the outcome of the thrown coin and the score is evened without recourse – after all; the outcome is a product of Choice. Everyone is content by the outcome he or she chooses. The content is not necessarily of being very satisfied at the outcome but being of what one chose and not what was chosen for one.
This is the point; we are all quite gratified by what we choose against what is chosen for us. The crux however is how satisfied is everyone with his or her choice/choices. That is left to how and what to choose.
The right to choose is the most beautiful and enduring grace God gave to Man, unlike other creations, God gave Man the patent capability to choose including to obey Him or not. Man was released free to choose. The Bible recorded, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Gen. 1:15-16)
Notice; Man was free to eat from any tree in the garden but warned (not restricted) against the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; Man was left to his choice to either live or die. Man sadly (in that case) chose to die. This outcome is the grievous effect of owning a choice.
It is the right to choose that makes Reward and Punishment possible. It must be borne in mind, though not usually highlighted, that at the set of a Choice, course and consequence are also determined so that we can contently project the outcome of the course selected or chosen. This is why and where good advice, foresight, insight and guidance are key and necessary. Good reasoning makes good Choice. When and where there is no guidance, error and danger looms.
Beloved, The Bible is God’s compendium to aid, modulate and regulate our Choices. The Bible says, “whereunto ye do well that ye take heed” helps determine and deliver a life course with predictable outcome as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn – We can always bank on its result as like a shining light and not growing darkness. Turning Point – Light

Light is sown [like seed] for the righteous and illuminates their path, And [irrepressible] joy [is spread] for the upright in heart [who delight in His favor and protection]. (Psalm 92:11)

“God is not a man” (Numbers 23:19), it is therefore important to gain truth about how, as a man, Man must interact with God. This is important to establish and maintain relationship with God. Jesus being a Man had unique connection and relationship with God to the puzzlement of the Men around Him; other Men always marveled at the exceptional result of His relations with God, Men, Elements and Events. In relation with God, He had all His requests and petitions answered. He said at some time, “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always :…( John 11:41-42) and by that relation, He raised a man who had died and been buried for four days from the grave.
In relation with Man, “five thousand men besides women and children” (Matt. 14:21) were not a challenge for him to cater for and meet their food need; when the sea (element) was boisterous and the wind contrary and Peter, impacted by the adverse situation, began to sink, He (Jesus) stretched His hand to rescue him while He walked on the same waters (Matt. 14:30-31), at the Cana wedding (event) He saved the day and the Bridegroom from imminent embarrassment when the wine ran out; He turned water into wine at the instance of His Word. (John 2:1-11).
About Jesus; “He hath done all things well:… “(Mark 7:37) was the epitaph of His Life and Ministry, yet He was a Man who was hungry as others, tempted as others, challenged as others, etc. but had a unique result in all life’ course unlike others, that Men marveled and said of Him; “What manner of man is this…” (Matt. 8:27).
It is keen and ardent to our good course and profit to study the Life and Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ; locate and identify what raised Him above the threshold of other Men, that ubiquitous and pervasive feature of His relation and interaction that extracted Him from common and ordinary Men. What must I have (or not have) to become like Jesus and attain His conquest.
Beloved, that unique feature of our Lord Jesus Christ in no other Man is Light! About our Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible said, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not… the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” (John 1:4-9). Light was the distinctive feature, latent and dominant in and about Him. On one occasion; He motioned; “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John. 8:12)
Beloved, every Man needs that Light inherent in the Lord Jesus Name, he called it; “Light of life”; Let us take some time and contemplate that sentence and examine if we have it or not – the Light of Life. There is so much darkness in our World that people “stumble” at noonday and grope in daylight as if its night.
Quit and come out of this dark tunnel of “life” without Light rather take hold of the Light of Life, it is this Light of Life that makes our lives glow and our relationship with God possible. That Light is the Word of God codified and delivered in the Holy Bible. Let’s sit and settle with it – It will lighten the life we love to live. It’s a Choice…go ahead make it yourself and live.

Turning Point – Building

He is like a man which built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (Luke 6:48)

The notion and process of Building is an intriguing and interesting idea to explore and study to understand the marvel, art and science implicit in every Building, including Mortar structure, Career, Business, Relationship, Family, Ministry, Life, a case, an argument, etc. Though the range of item or subject of interest may differ quite widely, the notion of “Building” has its unique elements that are consistent and implicit across all items being built. This is a crucial notice in the contemplation and execution of every Building project.
Every “Building” requires a design and outline (plan) of the intended structure, the site or location and a good evaluation/survey of “Quantity” required, organizing and managing the project from start to finish. The “Building” must also have its intended purpose or use properly conceived to cater for the need and enjoyment of its owner. These intricate details are both painstaking and quite consuming to deliberate and accentuate – to derive a befitting edifice of pride and choice.
Upon all the necessary preps penultimate to starting the “Building”; the ground-breaking is the deal-breaker to determine the longevity and permanency of the project. What ground is being broken; upon what “basis” is the structure being built? This is the make or mar point of the project.
The Bible carefully inferred a Rock as the good and founding basis for a strong and permanent Building. According to Wikipedia, “rock or stone is a naturally occurring solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids…” notice a rock derives its strength essentially from the coalition of its constituent elements; its formation being organic and natural. The natural and organic formation of the constituents of the rock is a good and necessary basis for a permanent Building otherwise, when “…torrent burst against it; and it immediately collapsed,…” (Luke 8:49 AMP) the ruin of that house will be great. Our natural coalition and alignment with God by His Word is the Rock required for our every Building.
Beloved, we must never build a Mortar structure, Career, Business, Relationship, Family, Ministry, Life, a case, an argument, etc. without the notice and caution of what will come against it; Bible calls it, “the flood”. It arises and beats vehemently upon that house. It should therefore not surprise, dismay or worry anyone that there are floods that come against life’s course rather we should take due notice and caution to build into our “Buildings” bulwarks, levees and protections that forestall, forbids and withstand life’s floods and its threats anytime and every time; this is the Word of God.
Our blessed Lord said, “Everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and obeys them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a [far-sighted, practical, and sensible] man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and yet could not shake it, because it had been securely built and founded on the rock. But the one who has [merely] heard and has not practiced [what I say], is like a [foolish] man who built a house on the ground without any foundation, and the torrent burst against it; and it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.” Build wisely; hear God and do whatsoever He tells. The floods will only salute and commend your wisdom when it comes

Turning Point

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way (John 4:50)

Turning point is the point at which a new turn is made. It is the pivot, hinge or axle that made the turn possible. This is a very cognitive fact about which we shall do well to understand.
Life’s trend and occurrences are traceable to some turning point; the instance at which some new events, trends or occasions are incepted. It is this turning point that must inform the response or reaction necessary to allow or disallow the trend now incepted.
Take for instance, a healthy virile person who upon his last meal, turned ill, sick and sickly. It is no folly to trace the turning point of the new sickly trend to that last meal. The content and context of the last meal becomes a subject of investigation to gain clarity of what in the meal triggered the ‘new’ trend in the health of the affected person. The assessment or diagnosis of the cause of illness is the necessary cognitive inference required for treatment and reversal of the unhealthy trend. Notice something profound in reversing the ill health trend is Treatment!
Treatment is introducing a new element or factor that will halt, terminate and reverse the cause, trend and course of the ill health and introduce or incept a new turn that restores wellness and wholeness. The element of the treatment now becomes a “turning point” for the health and wellness of the patient. In the event that health of the patient is not restored despite treatment, then the “type” of treatment is considered ineffective and new treatment is sought until a “turning point” is reached.
Beloved, the concept described fitly illustrates the pattern and model of Man’s life. Everyone has experienced multiple and multifarious turning points in life and life’s course. Some turns are good, pleasant and delightsome, others are simply trajectorially dismal and depressing about which a new turning point is apically sought and desired.
This was the context of the man who came to Jesus, seeking a “turning point” in the life and health of his son. The Bible says, “When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.” (John 4:47). Like this man, many do seek solution frantically for a turning point in life, health, career, Ministry, marriage, etc. except unlike this man, they have not heard of Jesus or having heard of Jesus would not venture going to Him.
To retract Men, from seeking “turning point” from “turn-away point” Saints must proclaim the verity of help and salvation in Jesus Christ. We must help our friends, families and favorites by introducing them to the “Day Star” (2 Peter 1:19) – the sure great and good turning point for life’ fortune and fortress – Jesus Christ who is described as the “Word of God”. (Rev. 19:13).
Notice the Bible says, “When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him.…” People can only come to Jesus for the much needed and apically sought “turning point” when they hear about him. About that man, the Bible concluded, “he began to amend… at the same hour, in which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.” (John 4:51-53)
